Soaked sunflower and hemp seeds are the base for this yummy “cheese” spread to put on sandwiches, dip veggies into, or eat with homemade flax crackers (I just made some in the dehydrator). I like to spread this on romaine leaves and make raw lettuce wraps/tacos stuffed with veggies.
1/2 cup hemp seeds
1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
1 red bell pepper, seeded and roughly chopped
1 clove garlic
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 teaspoons liquid aminos (or tamari)
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon turmeric
2 1/2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
water, up to 1/3 cup if needed
Soak the hemp seeds and sunflower seeds in water (enough to cover) overnight. Drain any excess water from the seeds and put all of the ingredients except water into food processor. Process until desired consistency adding water a little at a time if needed. Refrigerate.
